Savinien,the fourth son, and seventh child of Jacques Marcellin Saint Vrain, came to Kaskaskia in 1829. In 1842 he served as county treasurer and in 1852 and 1856 he was elected sheriff of Randolph Co. in 1860 and 1875 her served as Clerk of the General and Circuit Court. Savinien, along with his second wife, is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chester, Illinois.
